Odisha, formerly known as Orissa is a state in the eastern India with rich culture and history. Lying along the Bay of Bengal, it is famous for ancient temples and abundance of nature. However Odisha also has several other tourist attractions and most of which are still less explored. Jagganath temple in Puri, Sun temple in Konark, Lingaraj temple of Bhubaneswar are famous worldwide and attracts a lot of tourist round the year. Also Buddhism is deeply rooted in this state and ancient sites relating to Buddhism are found across the state. Roots to Buddhism in this state dates back to 6th Century BC. Prominent Buddhist sites like Ratnagiri, Lalitgiri, Udaygiri & Khandagiri and Dhauligiri are found here.
